I've been having problems installing the last two builds. Error: Found a device installation hang during device install phase, device information follows: Device Installation Hang detected! Device Description: Intel? I'm unable to find a newer version of the driver listed. The HP site does not have a newer update and checking from windows update it says this is the newest driver.

Device type. Laptop 2. If home built what type motherboard, Intel, AMD, other. Windows 10 Enterprise 4. Current build. Hit the WIN key, type winver, hit Enter. Version OS Build Where is this happening on the computer, Boot, Screen, App, etc. What error are you getting if any?

Documentation available here:. Remove the drivers for that device, reboot and try the upgrade again. After upgrade if it works , you can always try to install those drivers again, but they may be blocked or cause issues in the new OS. The ISO available for download is always the build released to the Slow ring, but it doesn't mean you're stuck with it, you can change rings anytime after the installation.

Scott McBurney. I've got the same problem with the 19H1 insider builds. HP Spectre x original version, given out at Build a few years ago. I tried the windows update version of the driver, and the original driver from HP.
But this was the first time I tried uninstalling the audio drivers and was able to finally install an insider build. These audio drivers have never had a problem in any previous windows version and earlier so what gives? In reply to Scott McBurney's post on January 10, I am having the same problem. Hard hang every time I upgrade until I uninstalled the drivers.
